![]() ![]() Jon, To clarify the Cable you want is the ( MFJ Automatic Antenna Tuner Radio Interface Cables MFJ-5114YL) The Reason is you are wanting to connect the MFJ-998 tuner in conjunction an amplifier. Seen some take out that circuit by older amps with 120v or A higher amp circuit than the FT991 can handle. Look at the specs for the amp and you will know if it is needed or not. I use the ARB704 and you would plug the RCA into it and then RCA into your amplifier. Not Knowing what Amplifier you are using as the FT991 Keying circuit for amp is limited to I believe 9 or 12v 800ma so it is highly recommended to put a keying buffer in this circuit. ![]() ![]() I hope this Clarifies and I did look on eBay and didn’t find an Equivant to the MFJ-5114YL and I believe they are talking about the Equivant DX Engineering YSU-8-RCA a 8 pin din to RCA which would only suffice the amplifier Now with that being said. I looked at the manual and Schematic the tuner does not do this down the rj45 so you need this cable in my opinion. You see it has the 8pin din to rj45 for the Tuner along with the RCA for keying the amp it splits it. You need to control the MFJ-998 along with keying the amp so the MFJ-5114YL or equivant is what you need. The Cable that Kevin Jay is talking about which is the 8 pin din to RCA which would plug into the Tun/Lin jack on the Ft991 and then the amplifier RCA. ![]()
